All shooters firing on the BTR range need to create a profile (a one-time task) and sign-in at the ipads upon entering the range. Dates: January 3-5, 2025; Snow Dates: January 10-12, 2025 

Eligibility: This competition is open to all competitors aged 21 and under as of December 31st, 2025 who have not already competed in a 2024-2025 State Junior Olympic match. All competitors must be individual members of USA Shooting. 

USAS MEMBERSHIP – Required of all competitors: If you are not a current member of USA Shooting, need to check your membership status, or renew your membership, please visit: https://members.usashooting.org/

Residence: Each competitor may claim residence in only one state and must declare the state of residence on the entry form. Residency is defined as to where the competitor holds a current and valid driver’s license. If the competitor does not have a driver’s license, residency is then defined as to where the competitor’s parents/guardians reside. Residents are eligible for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place USA Shooting State Champion medallions.

Juniors from states which are not holding a State Junior Olympic match and those who cannot attend their own state JO will be allowed to enter the non resident division in another state. At entry, non-resident juniors must declare that they are shooting for a non-resident invitation. Non-resident competitors are not eligible for State awards.

Entry & Score:

Only scores from a registered State Junior Olympic match will count for invitation to the National Junior Olympic Championships. Athletes may only shoot in one State Championship. All competitors and the Match Director must sign the Paper Score Reporting Form attesting to the accuracy and validity of scores from the match.

Entries should be made using the entry form enclosed with this program. Remember that you need one form for each discipline (smallbore rifle & air rifle). Mail entries with match fees to Deb Lyman, % BTR, 316 N Branford Rd, Wallingford, CT, 06492. Entries Close: 12/20/2024 so that the Match Directors can enjoy the holidays. Post entries will be accepted up to range capacity. Relay not confirmed until receipt of entry forms and match fees. No Refunds will be made.  

Categories The following categories will be based on the age the competitor will be on the first day of record fire of the competition:

U21 (21 years old and under by Dec 31, 2025)

U18 (18 years old and under by Dec 31, 2025)

U15 (15 years old and under by Dec 31, 2025)

USA Shooting Fee is $12.00 per competitor, per event. Registration Fee: $15.00 per competitor, per event Make Checks Payable to BTR (Blue Trail Range)

Registration Do not use school email addresses as they frequently bounce.

Rules All matches must be conducted in accordance with ISSF rules for that event.

Coaching: In accordance with ISSF rules, coaching is permitted during sighting and preparation time, provided it does not disturb other competitors. During the match, non-verbal coaching is permitted, provided the coach remains behind the ready line. If a coach wishes to call a shooter off the line during the match, they must inform a Range Officer, and the RO will notify the shooter. INVITATIONS TO NJOSC: First-round invites will be sent no later than February 27th, 2025. First-round invites should register for the NJOSC by February 27th, 2025 in order to secure their spot.
